Colloidal Silver: My Secret Health Weapon

colloidal silver

Antibiotic resistance is becoming more and more common.    The Center for Disease Control reports that over 40,000 Americans die each year from bacteria that don’t respond to antibiotics.  That seriously disturbs me!

I am really excited to share with you about colloidal silver and its powerful effectiveness against bacteria.  Silver kills all sorts of bacteria including e-coli, staph, and strep.  The World Health Organization even uses colloidal silver as a disinfectant for water in developing countries.

Silver has been used for centuries to kill bacteria and promote health.  According to Wikipedia, Hippocrates, the “father of medicine”, wrote that silver had beneficial healing and antidisease properties.  Silver fell out of popular use with the advent of antibiotics, which tended to work a little faster (and produced revenue for the pharmaceutical companies).

We have used colloidal silver for about seven years now to treat all sort of things.  When my daughter was an infant, she was having recurrent infections (once a month, high fever of about 104 that started after her 9m vaccinations (grr)) that stopped as soon as I gave her a little colloidal silver.  (yes!)  We take it as soon as one of us starts to get sick, and we notice drastic improvements!

My husband put some in his eye the other night for a developing sty, and it felt better in only ten minutes.  Amazing! We especially like to use it for eye-related things, like pink eye, because it doesn’t sting and is highly effective.  There are very few things you can put IN the eye, and colloidal silver is one of them!

We also really like the colloidal silver gel and use it in place of Neosporin on a bandaid.   It’s a great bacteria killer and the cooling effect also helps the owies feel better!

Colloidal silver has one potential side effect – if you drink a LOT of it (like 16 ozs a day for years instead of the normal amount of a teaspoon as needed), you could develop argyria.   No comparison when you read the possible side effects on a lot of the pharmaceutical medications these days – heart palpitations, high blood pressure, guillian-barre, etc, etc, for taking the medicine under the prescribed dose!   No, thank you.

Colloidal silver is also really affordable.  At only a teaspoon at a time, a 16 oz bottle lasted us for a year and I shelled out $22.47 for it.  Money well spent in my opinion.

You can make your own, and we picked up a generator on Amazon.  You can watch my demo video here: How to Make Colloidal Silver.

Have you used colloidal silver before?
